VH1 baru saja merilis daftar The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s yang merupakan daftar lagu-lagu pilihan saluran televisi musik Amerika Serikat yang dinilai sebagai 100 lagu terbaik pada tahun 2000an. The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s milik VH1 ini berisi lagu-lagu pop populer yang banyak diputar di berbagai saluran radio sepanjang dekade lalu. Simak ke-100 daftarnya!
VH1 baru saja merilis daftar The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s yang merupakan daftar lagu-lagu pilihan saluran televisi musik Amerika Serikat tersebut yang dinilai sebagai 100 lagu terbaik pada tahun 2000an. Tidak seperti daftar lagu-lagu terbaik lainnya – yang biasanya sering memasukkan nama musisi atau judul lagu yang kadang tidak pernah terdengar sebelumnya – The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s milik VH1 justru berisi lagu-lagu pop populer yang banyak dikumandangkan dan diputar berbagai saluran radio di sepanjang dekade lalu.
Daftar itu sendiri memilih Crazy In Love milik Beyoncé dan Jay-Z sebagai lagu terbaik di sepanjang tahun 2000an. Ketika dirilis pada tahun 2003, lagu yang menjadi singlepertama dari album solo perdana Beyoncé, Dangerously In Love, tersebut, mendapatkan pujian luas dari banyak kritikus musik dunia sekaligus berhasil menguasai berbagai tangga lagu dunia serta kemudian memenangkan kategori Best R&B Song dan Best Rap/Sung Collaboration di ajang The 46th Annual Grammy Awards. Majalah musik Rolling Stone juga menempatkan lagu tersebut di posisi 118 dalam daftar The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time yang dirilis pada tahun lalu.
Beyoncé, dan beberapa musisi lainnya seperti Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake dan Britney Spears, memiliki dua lagu yang berhasil masuk ke dalam daftar The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s milik VH1 tersebut. Namun, tidak ada yang mampu mengalahkan perolehan rapperJay-Z yang empat lagu yang menyertakan namanya berhasil masuk ke dalam daftar tersebut. Selain Crazy In Love, Jay-Z berhasil menempatkan dua lagu miliknya, Empire State of Mind dan 99 Problems, di posisi 8 dan 21, serta Umbrella yang merupakan kolaborasinya dengan Rihanna di posisi 11.
Walau banyak memasukkan judul-judul lagu populer yang memang sangat terkenal di masa rilisnya, The 100 Greatest Songs of ‘00s milik VH1 juga tidak melupakan beberapa lagu yang kurang populer di tangga lagu namun memiliki pengaruh yang cukup signifikan seperti Hurt miliknya Johnny Cash, The Rising miliknya Bruce Springsteen danStacy’s Mom miliknya Fountains of Wayne ke dalam daftarnya.
